Business Scholarship for Single Women

Ferguson Enterprises, Inc., on behalf of Virginia Peninsula Community College (Thomas Nelson) student Marla Petty established the scholarship in 2006. Marla Petty participated in a project called “Business Plan for Changes for Women” as part of an Introduction to Business class. One component of Marla’s business plan was to present a scholarship to a woman who might not be able to afford to go to Virginia Peninsula. Ferguson Enterprises, Inc. honored this request by providing the monies Marla requested. This scholarship has continued with the support of numerous donors. To qualify for this opportunity, the applicant must be a female student; be pursuing a degree or certificate in business; and eligible students, taking at least three hours per semester, must have completed six hours with a minimum 2.0 GPA.
