Marge Funk Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2001 in memory of Marge Funk. Ms. Funk was one of Thomas Nelson’s strongest advocates in both the local community and at the state level. Her service on the State Board for Community Colleges and on the local Thomas Nelson Board, indicated her strong support for Virginia’s Community College’s. Deeply involved with the Thomas Nelson community, she represented York County on the Thomas Nelson College Board and served as chair of the board. Her support for the College was also evident through her participation in many on-campus activities. Priority consideration will be given to students enrolled in a degree program within the Communications, Humanities and Social Sciences Division. To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must maintain full-time student status; have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours at Thomas Nelson; be a candidate for an AA, AS, or AAS degree; be a resident of James City or York Counties or the Cities of Poquoson or Williamsburg.
