Commonwealth Legacy Scholar Scholarship

The Commonwealth Legacy Scholarship Program is designed to honor one scholar from each of the 23 Virginia’s Community College’s. Funded by the Foundation for Community College Education (VFCCE), this scholarship is named each year for the recipient of the Chancellor’s Award for Leadership in Philanthropy. When the program was first launched in 2006, the VFCCE awarded 40 scholarships (one scholar per campus) in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Virginia’s Community Colleges. To qualify for this opportunity, the applicant must be a first-time student; have effective leadership and mentoring skills; and the potential to become an ambassador for community college education.
